The cover is yellow. At the top, inside a white rectangular strip (6×11 cm), a drawing in black ink depicts a Kazakh village, grazing livestock, a camel caravan, and a boy holding a sheet of paper. At the bottom, within a white square strip (6×6 cm), the inscription reads: “S. Begalin. YOUNG CHOKAN”.
On the first inner page, the author’s name and the book title are printed; at the very bottom center the imprint reads: “Kazakh State Publishing House of Fiction, Almaty - 1964”.
