Cover. The outer cover of the work by Russian travelers, used during Chokan Valikhanov’s studies at the Cadet Corps. The cover is gray, with the inscription at the top: “Peter Simon Pallas”, followed below by “Travels through various provinces of the Russian Empire”. At the bottom center, it reads: “IN ST. PETERSBURG, at the Imperial Academy of Sciences, 1788”.
