Description
Tapestry. Woven specially in 1985 for the opening of the Shokan Ualikhanov Memorial Museum “Altynemel.” Manufactured using a factory method from pure sheep wool at the V. Tereshkova Textile Factory in Almaty.
In the upper right corner of the tapestry is a Russian church; in the lower left corner, a domed mosque; below it, a Kazakh village and horsemen.
In the center - a caravan journey; at the bottom - the Kokchetau region is depicted.
Across the center of the tapestry, from left to right on patterned fabric, is a historic route passing through the cities of Yarkand, Kashgar, Kulja, Altynemel, Kapal, Verniy, Ayagoz, and Semey.
