Description

The qobyz is one of the sacred traditional musical instruments of the Kazakh people, dating back to ancient times. Its body is carved from wood in a rounded shape, with the top covered in tanned leather. The neck is long, with tuning pegs located at the head. The strings of the kyl-qobyz are made from twisted rawhide, and the bow is strung with horsehair.
